It's becoming a bit of a broken record, but the DC-area housing market in April was firing on all cylinders, like it has been for months. Low inventory and high buyer demand resulted in the continuation of a strong sellers market in the region, despite a high volume of new listings hitting the market.

Below, UrbanTurf plucked out some of the more telling statistics from the market last month.

  • $550,000 -- The median home price in the DC region in April, a new record for the region.
  • $1.35 million -- The median price for single-family homes in Bethesda.
  • 1,826 -- The number of condo/co-op sales in April, a new monthly record for the region.
  • 101.5% -- The median sales price to original list price ratio in the region.
  • 1.06 -- The months of supply of active listings in April, a 22 percent year-over-year drop.
  • 6 -- The median number of days that homes spent on the market in the region in May, the lowest ever.
