Another small residential project is in the works on one of Georgetown's main corridors.
A zoning application has been filed to add 8 residential units to the three-story building at 1515 Wisconsin Avenue NW (map). Up until recently, the John Rosselli and Associates antique store occupied the building, with two residential units on the third floor above the retail space.
The application seeks relief from the lot occupancy requirements to expand the building 15 feet into the rear yard and retrofit eight apartments onto the first-through-third floors. The existing building already exceeds the maximum lot occupancy.

The units in the walk-up building will range from 398 to 740 square feet, and at least one unit will have two levels. Gronning Architects is the designer.
The project is in the Georgetown Historic District and will also need approval from the Old Georgetown Board. A zoning hearing has not yet been scheduled.
