A little over a year ago, a new design and program was proposed for the site of the old Latham Hotel in Georgetown. A couple of months after that, a beer garden was floated for the site. Now, Thor Equities is taking another stab at a redesign for the hotel.
The developer has filed a new concept review application for 3000 M Street NW (map), sticking with the idea of a hotel with retail. The design now calls for a 100-room hotel with retail and restaurant space along M Street. Winstanley Architects is the new designer.

Previously, the site was approved for a 10-story, 88-room hotel above three stories of retail, followed more recently by an 8-story, 256-room hotel above a single story of retail. Permit extensions were denied last year for partial demolition of the old Latham Hotel.
As newly-proposed, the development will also require a planned unit development (PUD) application and a map amendment to rezone the site. Additional renderings are below.
