An Anacostia church is looking to add to DC's housing stock.
Bethel Christian Fellowship has applied for historic concept approval to convert the three buildings at 2200-2224 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE (map) into a five-story-plus-penthouse development, delivering up to 38 residential units along with new church space.

The unit mix will span from one- to three-bedrooms, and the church would have programmatic space and a child care on the lower floors. There would also be a total of 20 below-grade and surface parking spaces. PGN Architects is the designer.
The subject properties are contributing buildings to the Anacostia Historic District, along with a surface parking lot. UrbanTurf will keep up with this development as more details emerge. Additional images are below.
