The tip of this triangle outside this fence is for sale along Cleveland Avenue.

Five years ago, UrbanTurf reported on a small triangular plot of land that was listed for sale on the southern edge of Adams Morgan. Now, another triangular site is up for sale a couple miles away.

The small plot is located at the tip of a triangle outside of a fence in front of a home at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Cathedral Avenue NW (map). It is listed for $99,000 with Tanavia Greer of Long & Foster. Interestingly, the plot is not owned by the owner of the adjacent house; UrbanTurf reached out to the owner of the plot for this article, but did not immediately hear back.

The land is zoned R-1-B, which primarily allows for detached homes to be constructed on moderately sized lots. While a home was eventually built on the Adams Morgan plot, this plot is far too small for anything to be built, let alone a house.

Triangular plots are a bit of a land curiosity in DC. For a great deep dive, check out Martin Austermuhle's fascinating 2018 piece about the history and peculiarities of these lots.

Note: This article has been updated to clarify the size of the triangular plot for sale.
