Another new development in the region is looking to include temporary hotel uses during its lease-up.
Carr Properties and Insight Property Group have applied for permission to run up to 80 of the residential units under construction at 7272 Wisconsin Avenue (map) as short-term rentals of up to 30 days. The units would deliver as part of The Wilson and The Elm, 28-story office and residential buildings connected by an amenity "Skybridge". Shalom Baranes is the architect.

The Elm will have a total of 456 units, at least 57 of which will be moderately-priced, and the development will also include 14,572 square feet of retail and 7,500 square feet of open public space. The location is also the expected site of Bethesda's Purple Line stop.
The Montgomery Planning Board will consider the application later this week; staff is recommending approval.
