8-Unit Development Proposed for Connecticut Avenue Rowhouse

A residential project is on the boards for a DC neighborhood that doesn't see new development that often.
A block from the National Zoo at 2735 Connecticut Avenue NW (map), PGN Architects is seeking historic preservation concept approval to convert a two-story rowhouse into an eight-unit residential development.
A four-story rear addition would more than double the existing footprint of the property, delivering a pair of two-bedroom units on the cellar-through-second floors and an additional two-bedroom on the newly-constructed third and fourth floors.
While a development like this is relatively rare in Woodley Park, UrbanTurf has observed that similar projects, where a single-family house is converted into a multi-family property of no more than eight units, have been proposed regularly in recent years in many areas of the city, particularly in Northwest east of 16th Street and in Northeast.
Correction: White Stone Property Group and Borger Management were previously identified as development partners.
