The two-bedroom house at 1205 Potomac Street NW (map) sold for $960,000. Alex Cooper Auctioneers was planning on listing it with a starting bid of $500,000.
Because the previous owner was accepting pre-auction offers, the buyer was able to submit an all-cash offer to put the property under contract prior to the auction date.
