In January, numerous sources reported that construction would start in the first quarter of 2011 on a 276-unit apartment project at 1345 South Capitol Street (map), the first new apartment construction in Southwest in decades. DCmud reports this afternoon that Camden Property Trust will break ground on the eleven-story project next Tuesday.
At the beginning of the year, Southwest…The Little Quadrant That Could wrote that the building could be ready for occupancy as soon as June 2013, and it appears that the project is still scheduled to deliver around then. DCmud writes that the building will have amenities like a rooftop pool and deck and underground parking, but most importantly for the baseball fans out there, it could have views directly into Nationals Stadium across the street.
