More development is in the works for Cleveland Park's main strip.
Velocity Property Management has filed an application for Historic Preservation review for a new development with roughly 26 residential units and additional retail at 3400 Connecticut Avenue NW (map). The site sits just south of the Uptown Theater and currently houses surface parking, single story retail, and the Macklin apartment building.

The development will have four, three-story townhouses above a single story retail podium at the corner of Newark Street and Connecticut Avenue, and there will be a paved public plaza between these and a single-story retail building at 3412 Connecticut Avenue. A four-story addition with penthouse will sit behind and connect to the Macklin on Newark Street, atop two below-grade levels of parking, a library/co-working amenity, a movie room, and a gym.
The townhouse entrances will be on Newark Street, and the floorplans for the multifamily building appear to show 22 studio to two bedroom units. KASA is the design architect.
Additional renderings are below.
Correction: The unit count has been updated since publication.
