A rendering of the proposed building
The Arlington County Planning Commission is currently reviewing a proposed plan to bring a new, by-right apartment complex to the southwest corner of 18th Street South and South Eads Street (map), across the street from the Crystal City Metro station.
Under the plan, a third building would be added to the Crystal Houses apartment development, improving a surface parking lot with a five-story project containing 252 apartments. The project would also add 424 parking spaces on an underground level to replace the lost surface parking. An additional 31,000 square feet of land on the site will be transformed into a public park.
