Valor Development presented early plans Wednesday night for a large residential project on the boards for the 1600 block of Benning Road NE.
The seven-story, 250 to 300 unit development would be located at 1603-1625 Benning Road NE (map), based on details presented to the ANC 6A Economic Development and Planning Committee.

Amenities on-site would include a dog park and a gym, and there would be affordable units as part of the residential mix. A 100-space parking garage would be built with the development.
“There was a lot of concern expressed at the meeting about how this would impact parking in the neighborhood,” ANC 6A Commissioner Brad Greenfield told UrbanTurf. “The fear is that this development could cause a hundred or more new cars into parking on the residential streets in that area.”
The presentation on Wednesday was informational in nature, and Valor will come back with more details once the planned unit development is filed.
