Plans for one of the largest condo buildings on the boards in Alexandria are beginning to move forward.

Paradigm Development Company has plans in the works to build a 12-story, 110-unit condominium at 2200 Dock Lane (map). The new project, designed by Architect Collaborative, will go before the Alexandria Planning Commission in early December.

The new condo building would be the final phase of development for Paradigm along this block in the Eisenhower East Small Area Plan neighborhood. The developer completed Parc Meridian, a 20-story apartment tower, in 2016, and earlier this year, another 20-story building -- Meridian 2250 -- was completed.

Condos were not the original plan for the final development phase. In 2017, the developer pitched a nine-story, 180-room hotel at the condo site; it switched gears earlier this year.

In addition to two levels of underground parking, the new building will have amenities including a fitness center, movie room and a pet spa.
